About Us

Mark D. Schubert

Mark D. Schubert is the founder of Schubert Law Office, LLC, and serves as its managing attorney.

Mark focuses his practice on estate planning and related areas. He assists individuals and families with all aspects of basic and advanced estate planning including wills and trusts, financial and health care powers of attorney, asset protection and wealth preservation, estate and gift tax planning, business or farm succession, special needs planning, charitable giving, and probate and trust settlement. Mark also advises clients on elder law issues including Medicaid (nursing home/long-term care) planning, Veteran’s Administration pension pre-planning, guardianships and conservatorships.  Finally, Mark also continues to successfully represent clients in divorce, pre-nuptial and marital property agreements, paternity, guardianships, step-parent adoptions, other family law matters.  Although he does provide traditional representation, Mark is especially active in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) techniques.  He offers a form of limited representation for clients using a pro se approach, provides divorce and family law mediation, and is one of the leading Wisconsin attorneys assisting clients in the resolution of divorce, family law and other disputes using the collaborative family law process.  He was co-founder of the collaborative practice group known as Collaborative Professionals of Northeast Wisconsin, Inc., and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin, Inc., serving as the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Committee Chair.  He was a member of CFLCW's original Training Committee and was the principal author of its Manual for the Practice of Collaborative Family Law in Wisconsin.

Mark earned his law degree from the University of Wisconsin, where he graduated cum laude and was elected Vice-President of the Law School's Business and Tax Law Society. Mark was awarded his undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Business Administration magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.  Mark is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Outagamie County Bar Association, Collaborative Professionals of Northeast Wisconsin, Inc., and WealthCounsel.

Mark has a wide variety of interests outside the law. Consistent with his value on health and fitness, he enjoys hiking, basketball, jogging and cycling. He greatly enjoys outdoor activities, particularly fishing and camping. He is also a long time patron of the arts, especially theater and music. He is active as a volunteer for various local civic and charitable organizations, including current and/or past service for the Fox Valley Arts Alliance, Appleton Art Center, High School Mock Trial Competition, the Outagamie County “Legal Careers” Boy Scouts Exploring Post, Outagamie County Juvenile Diversion Program and Salvation Army Food Program.
